Well, it's been great being home with Riley for the past 12 weeks, but I finally had to go back to work. Riley is fine, of course, it's mommy that is having a hard time. She's so sweet and talkative in the mornings and that makes it even harder to leave her. I held her so much on Sunday just because I knew I would miss her on Monday. Last night, I slept on the couch holding her for a while just to get in some quality snuggle time : ) The day care that we have chosen doesn't take infants until they are 16 weeks old, so Gran (my mom) and Nana (my MIL) are helping out for a while. Gran has been here since Sunday afternoon and her and Riley have been having a good time. She will be keeping Riley on Mondays and Tuesdays. I'm sure Gran is ready to get home so she can rest. She's really been helping out a lot - as usual. Nana will be keeping Riley on Wednesdays and Thursdays and I think she's really looking forward to spending time with Riley. I don't know what I would do without their help. They are both great grandmothers. Of course, we can't forget about Pop (my dad) and Papa (my FIL).
We've caught Riley sucking her thumb a couple of times. Of course we think it is so cute, but we really don't want her to get in the habit of it. I sucked my thumb and so did Gran and Nana, so she's probably destined to be a thumb sucker. It's going to be so hard to break her of it one day - if it happens.
Pop and Gran bought us a web cam so that they could see Riley whenever they want. In true Pop and Gran fashion, they must do for all children what they've done for one, so... now the whole family has webcams. Even Glenda and Fred went and bought one and Jill and Tim already had one. It's been an interesting week with everyone calling each other on Skype. It's fun, though.
It wouldn't be right to have a post without a picture of Riley, so here you go...
